Traveling around the world is one of the many goals people put in their bucket lists. Others think they don’t have time for that because of their busy time. Others don’t think about it because it’s not their priority. Others are not interested.
Well, travel does a lot of things to you which you cannot fully experience when you’re just at home or at work. One of them is expanding and enhancing your knowledge in a level wider than when you’re in your comfort zones.
How does travel do that for you? Here are 5 ways:
 YOU MEET DIVERSE PEOPLE
When you travel, it’s impossible that you wouldn’t meet at least one or two people even if it’s behind a hidden mountain of an unfamiliar town. You always meet people, lots of people, when you travel — and that makes traveling a more convincing activity to do because you have people who can help and assist you.
There are people who just become a one-conversation friend, while some become your great friends as the trip goes on. However the thing is, you get some influence and knowledge from the people you meet. You are influenced by their gestures or even their clothes, or you are imparted information by them.
You gain knowledge about the places you visit, including their history and secrets. With that, you are even more able to understand why that place is at it is today. You learn how different people around the world really are, yet there is beauty in every uniqueness.
YOU GET EXPOSED TO MANY CULTURES
Culture shock is normal especially if the culture you belong to and the culture of the place you visited are totally different from each other. That difference, however, opens your mind to the truth that people all over the world are all the same humans but there are also many things that differentiate them from one another, and one is culture.
There are parts of others’ culture which you might like or dislike, but the thing is you get more exposed to variety so you become more knowledgeable and creative. You understand even more the diversity that exists in people’s way of living, beliefs, calendars and traditions and how vast and even immeasurable that diversity is.
YOU WITNESS ART IN MANY WAYS
When you travel, you get amazed at building structures, bridges, monuments, museums and many more. You stand and take photos and even make vlogs when you visit them. Through those photos, you take them as souvenirs to bring home with you.
You choose those with unique and incredible designs. You usually “wow!” at tall temples, shrines and beautiful hotels. Many countries around the world have hotels which are so weird, so luxurious, so creative, so astounding and many other descriptive adjectives! Their minds are just full of clever strings! All those are forms of art. You get to see how creative other countries also are just like your country, and there’s nothing to compare about because every country is unique in its own precious ways.
Aside from the visual arts, you also watch musical shows, dance performances and even theatre acts when you get a chance to do so in a place you travel to. It’s a one of a kind opportunity when you visit a certain foreign land! And when it’s your turn to build a house of your own, you could get ideas from the places you visited. Wow, that’d be one great advantage.
 YOU LEARN LANGUAGES
Knowing how to speak in English is very helpful when you travel the world because it’s a universal language. Not everyone, however, knows how to do so because in many countries, English is not their first language; they prioritize their local language. That obliges you to at least know basic words and sentences before you travel to a certain country, or you could bring a translating device if you have one.
Learning languages is hard, but it’s fun! It feels great that you’re able to communicate in many languages. Also, it’s helpful that you can recognize them by tones and accents even when you can’t fully understand the sentence so that you can also determine whether the people around are locals or foreigners as well. With that knowledge of languages you bring home and throughout your life, it could be a special weapon and skill you can use in time of need.
 YOUR CURIOSITY GETS NAUGHTIER
And when you travel, you just want to travel again. There’s a craving for hopping into the plane again and off another country’s airport or another homeland’s port (if it’s a far domestic travel). When you discover something new, you feel like there’s a lot more to experience and learn on another portion of the world and on another and on another. It makes your feet itch for several times again.
Traveling is challenging, time-consuming, expensive and also tiring, but it’s mostly fulfilling. It expands your knowledge. Know that there is so much more out there than inside the bounds of your comfort cribs. Travel and learn!
